Ivory Coast have gone top African team in the latest FIFA rankings table. They are in 18th position overall.

There were significant upward movement for Gabon (up 18 places to 30th), Algeria (up 19 to 47th), Zambia (up 13 to 77th), Benin (up 11 to 80th), Mozambique (up 5 to 82nd), Tanzania (up 12 to 97th), Namibia (up 13 to 115th) and Niger (up 8 to 136th)

Brazil beat USA 3-2 in the final of the FIFA Confederations Cup, played in Johannesburg.
